Fighting food waste at events

30,000 meals donated since 2015. A good practice which we are very proud of. The Palacongressi di Rimini chose to join the Food for Good initiative right from its pilot phase. The project, promoted by Federcongressi & Eventi, Banco Alimentare and Equoevento, is dedicated to fighting food waste during events.

And so, thanks to the collaboration and commitment of Summertrade, IEG's catering partner,  the recovery of excess food has become an authentic practice. The beneficiary of this noble activity is the Sant'Antonio soup kitchen in Rimini.

The case history of the Palacongressi as a good practice was presented yesterday in Rome at the International meeting of FEBA, European Food Banks Federation, Banco Alimentare, Equoevento and ASviS (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development) where those involved debated on "how to effectively reduce food waste".
