A mix of thrill and excitement at the 67°ed. of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana

The official program of the 2016 edition of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana has recently been issued.

Yannik Nézet-Séguin will launch the festival on the 30th of August, being the orchestra leader of the solo artists Renaud e Gautier Capuçon  (violin and  violincello) for the Double Concert of  Johannes Brahms, and the Rotterdam Philharmonic, which will perform also during the First Symphony of Gustav Mahler. Some days later, on the 4th of September, Valery Gergiev will lead the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre, which will present “Romeo and Juliet” (nr. 2, op. 64) of Prokof’ev.

Among  the famous guests Järvi, Castro, Kitajenko Dindo, Kolanky, Cera, which will perform during the symphonic concerts, beside the pianists Stefano Bollani, who will present, on the 7th September, the well-known “Rhapsody in blue” of George Gerswhin (Mdr Sinfonieorchester) and Marta Argerich, who will play with the Youth Orchestra of Bahia for the Concert of Poulenc (on the 9th September) for two pianos and then as solo artist in the Concert for piano of Sergeij Prokof’ev.

The Sagra Musicale will end with the RAI Symphonic Orchestra (September the 13th) with the orchestra leader Dmitrij Kitajenko and with the solo artist Simon Trèeski, for a all-russian program.
